The $750K/year advisor who doesn’t bother with LinkedIn
Jun 1, 2025

I know an insurance advisor who’s in the top 0.1% in the country, and he hasn’t updated his LinkedIn profile in a decade.
He loves the business—he eats, sleeps, and breathes it. He’s incredibly sociable, can strike up a conversation with just about anyone, listens deeply, and most importantly, solves complex problems with solutions his clients would’ve never uncovered on their own.
That, in my opinion, is what makes an exceptional insurance advisor.
Some of the most successful advisors I know do very little marketing—online or otherwise. No flashy reels. No daily posts. No newsletters. And yet, they’re thriving.
I'm sure they did at one point... maybe when they were starting out.
They all tell me the same thing:
“Ahh, I know I should do more marketing online.”
“I want to start a podcast or YouTube channel.”
“I know I should be posting more regularly.”
But it got me thinking...
Do the best surgeons promote themselves online? Some might—but I bet there are incredibly skilled ones you’ve never heard of.
Why?
Because they stay in their zone of genius.
Let me explain.
If your job is to do rhinoplasty (nose jobs) day in and day out, that’s literally the only thing you should be mastering.
Back when I used to train consistently in Muay Thai, I was reminded of the saying:
“I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.”
—Bruce Lee
You’re not supposed to master investing, insurance, or estate planning if that’s not your field.
You’re not a mechanic, so why would you try to fix your own brakes? (sounds like a disaster to me).
Yes, my marketing is likely what brought you here. And sure, I’ve developed those skills through past businesses. But I still outsource the things that aren’t in my zone of genius. That’s how I stay laser-focused on what I do best: helping ambitious Canadians build, protect, and preserve their wealth.
If you’re at the top of your career—earning, saving, investing—but know it’s time to go from “doing okay” to having a clear strategy for long-term wealth, we should talk.
Because your zone of genius isn’t building financial legacy or designing a lifestyle that lasts.
Mine is.

Most people wait too long to get life insurance—usually until it’s more expensive or harder to qualify for. I broke down why it should be part of your plan now, not later. Might be the nudge you (or someone you care about) needs.
