How Simplicity Made My Financial Advice Go Viral

A post on my Threads recently went viral. For those of you who don’t know, Threads is a relatively new social media platform that works similarly to Twitter—short snippets of ideas or thoughts with a character limit, but you can add to your “thread” and keep the conversation going.

Anyway, what groundbreaking post got 636k views on Threads?

An extremely simple post about TFSA contributions... and it got me thinking—people really just want simplicity. They’re thinking, “Just tell me exactly what I have to do to get to where I want to be.”

This was my post:

That’s it. Super simple

So then, I thought I was on to something and made another post with a similar format, but this time about RESPs.

This time, on Instagram, it was very well received—321 shares, 172 likes, 19 comments and 241k views on Threads.

Now, this isn’t a blog on marketing (although feel free to take any tips you need—psst: consistency is the biggest marketing tip there is). The point I’m driving home is that:

a) People really care about their kids, and
b) People crave simplicity in an ever-evolving, complex world.

And that’s where I come in.

I’ve always been a “foundations” builder—tell me your goals, and I’ll tell you exactly how to get there.
